Darling Harbour is putting the free into freedom, with a school holiday program packed with ideas to get the kids moving.
We’re inviting families of all shapes, sizes, and abilities to test their limits, and revel in the joy of movement at Move, Groove, Darling. From playgrounds to parkour, yoga, meditation, drumming, and even a classic school (holiday) disco, we’ve got all the ways to keep your kids moving these holidays.
So make a break for it and break free from the usual.
Move, Groove, Darling
The Move, Groove, Darling Festival returns in 2025 and it’s time to get moving!
The FREE 3-day festival is jam-packed with a line up of activities where you can chill out with some yoga and meditation in the Zen Den or become your own ninja warrior at Parkoursome – it’s all designed to get the kids off the couch and busting a move.
Moving into Saturday night, we have the ultimate throwback for the whole family at Darling Harbour’s School (holiday) Disco, there's an adventure for every little body (and maybe even a grown-up or two!).
So, dig out those dancing shoes, pack your biggest smiles, and get ready to celebrate the joy of movement at Move, Groove, Darling.
Join the Chinese Garden for a dynamic exploration of Chinese Paper Cutting, where history and creativity come together this school holidays.
The kids will love this unique social gaming experience where your body is the controller. With motion tracking, projection mapping, touch screens and surround sound, Immersive Gamebox is like nothing you have experienced before!
After a whole term of learning and making lunches and doing school drop-off's and pick-up's, kids and parents deserve a special treat!
Dopa is a unique and fresh Japanese restaurant, inspired by the delicious street food of Tokyo.
Accessibility
Darling Harbour aims to deliver an inclusive and accessible Move, Groove, Darling experience:
- Easy navigation: Find accessible pathways into Tumbalong Park and flat surfaces within the Zen Den (slight entry gradient). Check the Darling Harbour map for overall accessibility.
- Accessible toilets: Find conveniently located accessible toilets, about 150 meters from both sides of Tumbalong Park.
- Stable footing: The Tumbalong Park event area features grass and Supa Trac flooring, designed for stability. (Note: grass may be muddy/slippery.)
- Onsite first-aid: St. John Ambulance First Aid will be available Saturday afternoon.
- Helpful staff: Look for the Darling Harbour team in colorful or NSW Government logo shirts – they're here to assist!
- Sensory-friendly Zen Den: Enjoy light amplification and calm activities like kids' yoga and meditation.
