This inner-city dining precinct is set to treat Sydneysiders to a bevy of new restaurants  and an impressive display of giant living Christmas presents.

Christmas will come early at Darling Quarter with a collection of new restaurants opening just in time for the festive season. Just a few steps from the city, this treelined precinct overlooking Tumbalong Park provides a welcome escape away from the bustle of the CBD. With al fresco dining, refreshing cocktails and an array of cuisines, Darling Quarter is set to become one of Sydney’s favourite dining spots this Summer.

For festive gatherings Darling Quarter introduces the following restaurant line up:

MuMian – sister to Sydney’s Tao restaurant, MuMian is dishing up Cantonese cuisine in a stunning new restaurant, complete with three private dining rooms and four banquet menus. In addition to traditional favourites, the menu includes signature dishes like: Cucumber, black sesame, pumpkin seed and yuzu dressing; and must-try cocktails like the Drunken Fortune Buddha.

Ichoume – with its strikingly colourful interiors (including the unmissable Ichoume orange van), this brand new Japanese restaurant has a cool setting and an even cooler izakaya style menu featuring dishes like: Wagyu beef sushi with foie gras and caviar; and specialty drinks like Karuizawa yuzu beer.

Braza Churrascaria – This Brazilian restaurant is a Sydney institution for meat lovers, with hearty rump cap steaks, skewered seafood, whole fish and slow cooked meats coupled with colourful sides and Caipirinha cocktails.

Vesta Italian – This Italian favourite has a brand new fit-out and will be serving up pizzas, pastas, and specialty dishes, along with Aperol Spritzes all summer long.

Doodee Noodle – From the creators of famed Thai eateries Doodee Paidang, their newest restaurant will combine stunning interior design with authentic Thai street food, including favourites with a twist like: Pad Thai soft shell crab.

Also coming soon with a beautiful interior and a cult following:

Dopa –The newest restaurant by the crew who brought us Devon by Dopa and Dopa’s Milkbar & Donburi is set to join Darling Quarter this December with a retro Tokyo inspired donburi and dessert bar.

Other new arrivals include Kürtősh (home of the iconic chimney cake), Chatime (freshly brewed bubble tea) and Goobne (known for their Korean oven-roasted chicken). Along with casual eateries Alma, St Dreux, Haven Speciality Coffee, and Singapore street food favourite Killiney Kopitiam

To top it off, Gelatissimo and McDonald’s make it the perfect pitstop for families with kids following a visit to Darling Harbour’s playground, waterpark and festive events, or a late stop after your Christmas party for fries and gelato.

Darling Harbour also comes alive with a Christmas Festival at Tumbalong Park, workshops at the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre, Santa experiences, pedal boats at Cockle Bay Wharf, festive fireworks, and Pixar Putt mini golf at the Pier Street Underpass.

Giant Living Christmas presents

Wrapped in Christmas magic Darling Quarter will also become the home of living Christmas presents. Large-scale vertical gardens boxes will be dressed in red bows to create an insta-worthy festive photo to share on the ‘gram. They can be found in the Civic Connector at Darling Quarter from 23 November – 30 December. The plants will be available for purchase in the new year with all proceeds going to charity.
