The best venues in Darling Harbour for large groups

If your group loves seafood and sea views, Nick’s is your best bet. This restaurant is a landmark on the Cockle Bay promenade, just a splash away from the harbour, serving the freshest seafood in elegant plates and generous platters. Groups of less than 11 can book online, but there’s room for 11 to 1,500 for bespoke functions.
 

Blackbird Cafe is famous for having the best view of Darling Harbour, a cracking menu of Australian classics and generous cocktail jugs. You can book for up to 20 people online, while larger groups can reserve the entire venue, which features panoramic views, an expansive terrace and a famed dancefloor. 

Braza Churrascaria is famous for its authentic Brazilian Barbeque, with traditional service style known as Rodízio, where passadores (meat carvers) rotate from table to table serving 20+ types of meat skewers and delicious sides. This unique experience can be booked online for up to 20 people, and the entire venue can be hired for large events.

Celebrity chef David Chang (of Momofoku fame) once called the XO pippies at Golden Century Sydney the best dish in the world. XOPP is a new restaurant by Golden Century inspired by that dish that serves elevated Cantonese cuisine and a spectacular wine list. Groups of 8 or smaller can book online, whereas larger bookings can reserve a section of the dining room, or one of three private spaces. 

Cafe del Mar is home to one of Sydney’s biggest, breeziest rooftop terraces right next to Darling Harbour. You can also expect DJs, a dancefloor and an elegant menu inspired by the Mediterranean Coast. Groups smaller than 15 can simply book online, while larger groups can email to enquire, with options to book a private dining room or the entire terrace. 
 

Pumphouse is one of Sydney’s most architecturally interesting and historical bars, built in the refurbished home of the city’s first large hydraulic pump station (built in 1891). The sophisticated space combines old world charm and modern comfort, with a breezy terrace and a light filled interior - plus a fully stocked wine room and house-brewed craft beer on tap. Groups of 19 or smaller can book online, whereas larger groups can contact the venue to enquire about renting the terrace, the wine room or one of many private spaces.
