ECHO
The Sydney Flamenco Studio celebrates its 10th anniversary with its latest production, ECHO, showcasing its students alongside acclaimed musicians Zoe Velez (cante/singing), Kieren Ray (guitar) and Byron Mark (percussion).
Known for a distinctive production style that weaves together flamenco dance, live music and poetry, The Sydney Flamenco Studio — led by Chachy Peñalver — brings ECHO: a new show that taps into our unique yet plural existence:
"De todo aquello que nos ha tocado,
De todo aquello que he tocado,
De todo aquello que he soñado
Y me ha soñado, Soy un eco…"
"Of all that has touched me,
Of all that I have touched,
Of all I have dreamt
And has dreamt me,
I am an echo."

Translating and transforming all that the sound of life brushes upon our surface: into the way we move, the way we respond, the way we create. Echoes, with their innate impossibility to remain unchanged.
Unique yet a myriad of voices — dwelling in this small creature with its delirious tendency to transcend — we walk life convinced of our singularity, just to sometimes realise the deep well of culture and nature's instinct that has been quietly seeded into every step.
The echoes of human nature…
