The perfect family day out in Darling Harbour with journalist and mummy blogger, Amy Gerard
When Darling Harbour approached us to curate the best family day out itinerary, we jumped at the opportunity to adventure around one of Sydney’s most popular locations - and thanks to the Dine & Discover vouchers, we were able to fit quite a bit in!

Free fun for the kids
We kicked off our family day out by Sydney’s iconic Harbour, specifically at the Darling Harbour Children’s Playground near Tumbalong Park. The kids went crazy over this...in a good way. It’s like the playground of any kid's dreams. And did I mention it’s free?! It’s packed with slides, a mini flying fox and monkey bars. It’s worth mentioning that the park is next to the water fountains - worth bringing along an extra set of clothes for the little ones.
Let the kids imaginations run wild under the sea
After our visit to the playground, we stopped past Auvers Cafe situated in Darling Square for a quick caffeine hit and recharge. This was much needed and highly recommended! We needed the rest before taking on SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium right by Cockle Bay Wharf.
If you’re looking for a family activity that’ll get the kids imaginations running wild and have them endlessly excited then SEA LIFE is definitely one to put on the list. It ticks so many boxes and best of all we ended up saving $50 off the entry by using our Discover vouchers.
Unwind and refuel by having lunch with a view
After visiting the main attraction for the day, we headed straight for Cyren Bar Grill Seafood for a lunchtime feast. Kids were kept entertained with awesome colouring-in packs provided by the restaurant and we all left full and satisfied! It’s here that we were able to utilise our Dine vouchers and get a further $50 off the total bill.
In just a couple of hours, my kids were full, happy, and completely out. A successful family outing and the best place to use your Dine & Discover vouchers, if you ask me!
