Ring in the Year of the Fire Horse with a one-of-a-kind experience in the Chinese Garden of Friendship.

The doors to the garden will open for one special night during Chinese New Year, welcoming you to explore this tranquil oasis in the heart of the city as the sunsets and the night falls.

Embark on an exciting twilight journey as the Chinese Garden of Friendship turns into a glowing wonderland. Drawing inspiration from traditional festive games and Kung Fu culture, fusing heritage with contemporary energy, there’ll be a feast of live music, open mic acts, craft workshops, and spectacular street & fan dances for an unforgettable evening filled with culture, movement, and sound.

This year’s Chinese Garden’s Twilight Garden Party has been produced in collaboration with Dancekool. Est. 2000, Dancekool is one of Australia’s all ages, original hip hop dance studios, shaping the street dance scene for over 20 years, bringing global street dance legends to Australia to train and inspire the community — from Sugar Pop and Mr Wiggles to Tyrone Proctor, Salah, Mamson, Princess Lockeroo, and more.They also produce iconic events like Dancekool Volumes (Australia’s longest-running street dance event since 2001), Beat Breakdown, Waacktournament (a queer-centric dance event) and Burwood Ford Lane.
