Join Karen Pang as she tells the captivating tale of Bai Suzhen, The White Snake Spirit, at the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
This Chinese New Year of 2025 we joyously celebrate the Year of the Snake!
This slithery animal is usually known for its cunning and guile. But the Snake is so much more than this. It is also known for its loyalty, persistence, love, and ability to transform. The story of Bai Suzhen, The White Snake Spirit, and her true love Xu Xian, brings these characteristics to life. However, this is no ordinary love story. Bai Suzhen not only transforms into a human but she must also battle terrible warrior spirits and overcome an evil monk.We invite you to come and hear the story of Bai Suzhen, The White Snake Spirit, at the Chinese Garden of Friendship in Darling Harbour on Sun 2 and 9 Feb 2025. Join us, as actress Karen Pang, best known for her work on Playschool, Home and Away and Wakefield, brings to life this wondrous tale of Bai Suzhen’s journey of magic, love, and loyalty.
Two sessions will run each day at the following times:
- 12:30pm- 12:50pm
- 1:10pm – 1:30pm

About the artist: Karen Pang
Karen Pang’s feature film credits include A Summer To Remember, Superman Returns, Safety In Numbers, Danny Deckchair and The Nugget. Karen has appeared on a variety of TV series including Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, Wakefield, C*A*U*G*H*T, Dead Lucky, Rake, The Circuit, All Saints and Home and Away. Karen is an experienced presenter and host. She is most well known for her role as a presenter on the much loved ABC show Playschool, she’s appeared on this show to an adoring national audience for over 15 years. Karen is a graduate of National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA).
