Hong Kong/Sydney based Karen Siu, is a professional “street dance” performer, MC, and producer. She has studied and performed internationally, specialising in Dancehall, Waacking and Hip-hop, and emphasizes the importance of "dancing from the heart and soul”.
Karen was a founding member of the all-girl dance crew, “Sakura”, which performed at various festivals in Sydney, Japan, and Korea. For six years, she was the producer and MC for Beat Breakdown at Darling Harbour and is also a resident teacher at DanceKool Studios. Karen is a firm believer in lifelong learning and believes that "everyone can dance!"
The 7-piece Nostalgia Traditional Band has showcased traditional Vietnamese music throughout Sydney and interstate at various cultural festivals. Their performances include the Zither (a 19-string instrument) and the monochord (a 1-string instrument). Accompanied by the Vietnamese Women's Association in NSW Inc, featuring an 8-member women's dance troupe in full traditional dress, this ensemble promises to provide a rich cultural auditory and visual experience.
