Uncover the Wildlife of Ballast Point Park
We’ve partnered with experts from Botanic Garden Sydney to deepen our understanding of the animals, plants and habitats that make Ballast Point Park such a unique harbourside landscape. By gathering on‑the‑ground observations, we’re building a clearer picture of the park’s ecology—knowledge that helps guide its care now and into the future, and further inform the Ballast Point Park Management Plan.
Visitors are invited to contribute by sharing their wildlife sightings on iNaturalist. Every photo, note or video you upload adds to a growing dataset that supports ongoing conservation and celebrates the rich stories embedded in this place—from the enduring histories of Aboriginal people to its industrial past and transformation into the public park enjoyed today.
Your observations help us track seasonal changes, identify native and introduced species, monitor habitat health, and understand how plants and animals interact across the year.
