It’s time to ring in the new year! Celebrate the Year of the Dragon by showcasing your creativity with the Lunar New Year Chinese Garden of Friendship Photography Competition. Explore the garden and snap a picture for your chance to WIN an incredible prize package valued at over $750.

All ages can get involved. There are two categories open for entry:  

  • Under 16

  • 16 and over

To participate, take a photograph in landscape (horizontal) format in the Chinese Garden of Friendship that captures the essence of the Year of the Dragon, and upload to the form below. There will be one winner of each category that will win the grand prize, and two lucky runner ups in each category will also have their photograph displayed in the Garden. Winners and runner ups will also get to take their photograph home at the end of the exhibition! 

Whether it's a mischievous dragon peeking out from behind a rock in the garden, or someone you adore who you feel embodies all the qualities of a majestic dragon, let your creativity run wild. The more imaginative, the better!

Please note that while we'd love for you to get creative, we also need to treat the Chinese Garden of Friendship and the wildlife within with respect. Please do not touch, disturb or feed the dragons and lizards in the garden.

The competition closes on Sunday January 28, with winning artworks on display for Lunar New Year celebrations from Saturday February 10.
