Stand beneath a glowing cloud of fluffy white sheep—a surreal and whimsical sight illuminated against the night sky. Is this an image you’ve conjured from the depths of a dream?
For generations, counting sheep has gently shepherded us into slumber, the meditative rhythm bridging the gap between unease and calm, between waking and dreaming. The Dream Herd is a homage to this nightly ritual and the beauty of rest, blending light, storytelling and imagination.
Research suggests those who grew up with black-and-white television, often report dreaming in monochrome, while others tend to dream in colour. This phenomenon is reflected in the shifting tones and patterns of Dream Herd, as vibrant colours and unexpected bursts of light play across the illuminated flock. Interactive touchpoints trigger these flights of colour, transforming the sheep into a shifting paddock of dreaming.
Dream Herd is proudly funded by The GPT Group and Mirvac for Cockle Bay Wharf.
