At Darling Harbour, we're committed to welcoming all visitors, and strive to be accessible to all, including those with additional mobility requirements.

Getting to Darling Harbour

Access to Darling Harbour is mostly level from surrounding streets.

The Goods Line

The Goods Line provides an accessible east-west connection between the city and Ultimo via Mary Ann St and Darling Drive at Macarthur St. While connections onto and across The Goods Line are accessible at both streets, unfortunately the grade of Macarthur Street itself is too steep to be considered accessible. The Goods Line provides a new accessible north-south connection from the southern side of Ultimo Road, across the rail bridge to Darling Drive, near the end of Macarthur Street.

Lift Access

There are several lifts located in Darling Harbour for ease of access.

  • Pyrmont Bridge - Lifts are available on either side of the bridge, linking to Ultimo and the Sydney CBD.
  • Cockle Bay - Lift adjacent to Home Nightclub, linking through to Druitt Street

  • Darling Quarter - Lift linking to Bathurst St

  • Convention Centre - Lift linking to Ultimo

Wheelchair Charging

An electric wheelchair recharge station is situated along the wall on Tumbalong Boulevard at Palm Grove, near IMAX Sydney.

The Harbourside car park provides accessible parking spaces and level access to the street. While Harbourside is currently under redevelopment, the car park is still open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

First Parking operates in Darling Square and Darling Quarter with lift access to the street.

Town Hall Station is approximately 600m from Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour, and Central Station is approximately 2km away.

If you are travelling via train from Town Hall station, there are lifts at Druitt St and Bathurst St that link through to Cockle Bay and Darling Quarter.

The wheelchair accessible bus route 389 operates between Bridge Street, Circular Quay and Pyrmont, making stops at The Star Light Rail, Pirrama Rd at Harris St, Harris St at Allen St, and Town Hall Station. Visit transportinfo.nsw for more information.

Darling Harbour is located close to the L1 Dulwich Hill light rail line which is serviced by two light rail stops: Exhibition; and Convention. The L1 Dulwich Hill light rail departs regularly from Central.

Both the Exhibition and Convention stations provide at-grade and stair-free access to ICC Sydney venues in Darling Harbour, with a signalised pedestrian crossings available to safely cross Darling Drive.
