See the magnificent koi get fed at the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
Important: Daily fish feeding sessions are spectator sessions only.
Join the Garden’s Interpretation Officers at 11.30am every day in the Lenient Jade Pavilion to feed the magnificent koi. Help the team attract the fish by clapping loudly, then share in the experience of feeding these colourful ‘living jewels’.
The koi in the garden are descended from a type of black carp called ‘magoi’ and are fed three times a day with floating fish pellets (similar to tropical fish food). They also eat the algae growing on the rocks and buildings. Thanks to the special attention and care they receive, the garden’s koi can live for up to 35 years.
